Stirling’s not huge, but it punches above its weight when it comes to food and drink. Whether you’re after a pint, a proper dinner, or somewhere quiet for a coffee, here are a few of our favourites — all easy to reach from your apartment.

🥘 Dinner & Evening

Brea – Seasonal Scottish produce, done well. Great for a nicer evening out.
The Allan Park – Classic pub food in a smart setting. Good for groups.
Hermanns – Austrian–Scottish family-run spot with proper portions and friendly service.
Mamma Mia – Family-run Italian just outside the centre. Worth the extra walk.
The Orangery (Hotel Colessio) – Fancy without being stuffy. Good for a birthday meal.

🍳 Breakfast & Brunch

Toast – Lively café near the train station. Good eggs, decent coffee.
Mint Café – Turkish/Scottish mashup. Unexpectedly brilliant for breakfast.
HBW (Hard to Beat Weekend) – Street-food-style brunch in the Stirling Arcade.
Caffe Pompei – Local Italian-run spot with old-school charm. Big portions, small prices.

The Book Nook – Cosy bookshop café with homemade cakes and strong coffee.
Unorthodox Roasters – The best flat white in Stirling (probably).
Darnley Coffee House – Traditional tearoom near the castle. Quieter vibe.

🍻 Pubs & Pints

The Settle Inn – Stirling’s oldest pub. Tiny, atmospheric, good ale.
Curly Coo Bar – Great whisky selection, laid-back atmosphere.
Nicky-Tams – Locals’ favourite — live music and decent pub grub.
The Kilted Kangaroo – More lively, casual, studenty.

🛒 Local Markets & Shops

If you fancy cooking at home or packing a picnic:

Stirling Farmers’ Market – 2nd Saturday of the month, Port Street

Allan’s Butchers – Old-school butcher, good local cuts

The Olive Tree – Deli and wine shop in Bridge of Allan
